Balaklava 29/10-30/10 We have arrived in Blaklava named after the battle of the Light Brigade during the Crimean War.  Our main reason for visiting this small farming town is that we blew through the last trip and remembered having a great pie for lunch. It's official the Bakery makes the best meat pies in the world.  Melt in your mouth pastry with lots of chunks of tender steak. The caravan park has also turned out to be a real gem, Gary who runs the place is a character and they supply toweling bath mats for the showers so you have dry feet. While here we rode our bikes along the Shamus Liptrot Cycling trail which follows the former railway line to Halbury. 22km return trip. Only a little to see as it's mainly cropping in this area so heaps of fields of Barley and Wheat.  Halbury is a small farming town with just a few houses.  We also did the Lion Park walking trail along the Wakefield River which is dry at the moment. Shamus Liptrot Cycling trail I love Fla...

Wallaroo 18/10-20/10 We have arrived in Wallaroo which is a small coastal town at the top of the Yorke Peninsula.  To get to the caravan park you drive through a housing estate where everyone has their own mooring. After setting up camp we hopped on our bikes and rode into town, we plan to do the rail trail ride while we're here.  On our trip around town, we rode down the jetty where all the fishermen were. It looks like squid is the main catch here.  The jetty is also used by the grain ships that come into port.  Harvest is in full swing at the moment there's a ship waiting to come into port to be loaded. Old post office Town Hall Thursday has turned out to be a warm day so we have decided to leave the rail trail until Friday.  We drove into Wallaroo and walked around the old part of town.  There are lots of stone houses here and it's very reminiscent of the dock areas around Melbourne...
