Here comes the Sun.

We commented to a local in Esperance on how hard it is to get a campsite at Lucky Bay. (You need to book 6 months in advance.)
He recommended Wharton Beach as a better alternative. What a great tip that was. We thought we would stop for a couple of nights and ended up staying four. He also recommended the pub up the road, but that turned out to be a Dud. (Outback prices, Rubbish Beer selection and surly Barman.)

A lot of beach driving today. First, we drove down Wharton Beach to the end, then along a 4WD track to Victoria Harbour. Victoria Harbour is pristine and deserted. After a long walk along the beach, we drove back along Wharton Beach and walked up the track to the top of a hill, which is a giant granite rock, where we had views across the bays and beaches. There were lots of little Lizards scurrying around the rocks.
We collected some firewood on the way home and put a lump of roast beef on the spit. It was delicious, and we'll have sandwich fillings for the next few days.

We took a track to Nares Beach in the morning and had another beautiful, protected beach to ourselves. We spent quite a few hours fishing off the rocks, but didn't catch anything big enough to keep. On the way back to camp, we took the track to Little Wharton beach. Another gorgeous beach, this time there were plenty of rock pools to explore.

We returned to Nares Island Beach for another go at fishing, this time we had the proper tackle and bait.

In the end, we caught 8 fish, no two were the same species, and unfortunately, none of them were pan size.  Our fishing was brought to an end by a giant stingray that cruised along the reef, gobbling up anything in its path. One of them was a fish we released, but unfortunately, it didn't make it.
Linda made an early lead with 3 fish, then Ken made a comeback for a four-all draw at the end of play.

We had a fun day, even though we didn't catch dinner. And once again, we had the place to ourselves.

We left our new favourite coastal area today, stopping off in Esperance to resupply.
Tonight we're at a free camp on the oval of the old Fitzgerald school.

A travelling and chores day today. A short stop in Jerramungup to check out the OP-Shop and get some rolls, then onto Bremer Bay. After the chores were done, we rode to the Brewery along a lovely bush bike trail.

A Day exploring the Beaches around Bremer Bay. We're spoilt for choice. First stop was a 4WD track to Point Henry. We were hoping to find a fishing spot, but there was no way we were scrambling down the rocks. We had a good walk along Blossom Beach and stopped at a few others on the way back to camp. We saw our second snake of the trip on the bike path into town. Only a little Brown.

This morning we decided to have another go at fishing. There's a short pier just down the road that seemed like a good option. When we arrived, there were two old couples already there. When we told them we were novices, they were happy to give us some tips. We learn't a bit about fishing and managed to catch a couple of small Herring. We thought they were too small to make a meal, so we threw them back. Old mate felt pity on us and gave us a few fish for lunch. They were Delicious.
